# Exclude files from offload

You can keep media items on your server in two ways. Exclude single items under **Offloft → Files**, or list whole file types in **Settings → Uploads & sync → File types to skip**. Excluded files load from your server as usual. There's no rule for skipping a folder in this version.

## Exclude media items

1. Open **Offloft → Files**.
2. Select the items.
3. Choose **Exclude** from the bulk actions.

To offload them again, choose **Include again**. From WP-CLI, use `wp offloft exclude` and `wp offloft include`.

## Skip file types

In **Settings → Uploads & sync**, add types to **File types to skip**, separated by commas. For example: `application/zip, video/*`. Leave it empty to offload every type.

## Turn off automatic offload

To choose what goes up yourself, turn off **Offload new uploads automatically** in the same section. New uploads then stay on your server until you offload them.
