# Install Offloft

To install Offloft, download the zip from our [download page](/download). Then go to **Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin** in your WordPress admin, choose the file, and click **Install Now** and **Activate**. Offloft needs WordPress 6.5 or later and PHP 8.1 or later with the cURL extension.

## From a zip file

1. Download the zip from the [download page](/download).
2. Go to **Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin** and choose the file.
3. Click **Install Now**, then **Activate**.
4. Open **Offloft** in the admin menu. The setup wizard starts there.

## What happens next

Nothing changes for your visitors yet. Your media keeps loading from your server until you've connected storage and both tests pass. Continue with [your first offload](/docs/first-offload).
