# Alerts

Alerts tell you by email, Slack or webhook when something needs you, not when everything is fine. Add a channel in **Offloft → Settings → Alerts**, click **Send test** to check it, and choose how often warnings arrive: in a daily digest or a weekly one.

## Add a channel

Click **Add channel**, choose a type and give it a name.

- **Email.** One or more addresses.
- **Slack.** A Slack webhook address.
- **Webhook.** Your own address, with an optional signing secret.

## Verifying a webhook

With a signing secret, each request carries this header, the HMAC-SHA256 of the exact body:

X-Offloft-Signature: sha256=<hex>
```

Compute the same value with your secret, and reject requests that don't match.
