# Requirements

Offloft needs WordPress 6.5 or later and PHP 8.1 or later with the cURL extension, plus a bucket with Cloudflare R2, Amazon S3 or any other S3-compatible storage. You bring the bucket and pay your provider directly. Background work needs WordPress's scheduled tasks to run.

## What you need

- WordPress 6.5 or later
- PHP 8.1 or later with the cURL extension
- A bucket with [a supported provider](/storage), and an access key for it
- A WordPress administrator login for setup

## Background tasks

Uploads and checks run through Action Scheduler, which depends on WordPress's scheduled tasks. If your host turns WP-Cron off, add a real cron job. **Settings → Advanced** shows the exact line for your server. See [uploads stuck or slow](/docs/troubleshooting/uploads-stuck).

## Multisite

Multisite hasn't been tested with this version. Use single-site installs for now.
