Your first offload
Your first offload takes five steps: install Offloft, choose your storage, create a bucket and an access key, run the connection test and delivery check, then move your library. The setup wizard walks you through them. Your site keeps using local files until each cloud copy has been checked.
The setup overview shows these steps with a guide for each provider. This page shows what the wizard asks.
The setup wizard
- Storage. Choose your provider. Each one has a step-by-step guide for its own dashboard.
- Connect. Paste your access keys and bucket. A live connection test checks each step and points at the one to fix if something fails.
- Delivery. Choose the address your media loads from, and run the delivery test.
- Safety. Choose your safety defaults: keep local copies, and offload new uploads automatically.
- Scan. Run the pre-flight scan. It counts your files and flags anything that would get in the way.
- Start. Start offloading. It runs in the background, so you can close the page.
After setup
The Dashboard shows how many files are verified and anything that needs you. Jobs shows the offload as it runs. A file loads from the cloud only once it's verified there. Until then, it keeps loading from your server.
If you'd rather not create the bucket by hand, Offloft Pro's automatic setup can do it for Cloudflare R2 and Amazon S3.
