Jobs

Updated November 6, 2026Suggest an editView as Markdown

A job is a piece of library-wide work that runs in the background: offloading everything, verifying everything, re-syncing, or bringing everything back to your server. You can close the page while it runs. Pause it, resume it where it stopped, or cancel it. What's already done stays done.

The jobs

  • Offload everything uploads and checks the files that aren't in your bucket yet.
  • Verify everything checks that your cloud copies are there and complete, with no download.
  • Re-sync syncs media items again.
  • Bring everything back to my server downloads every file again and checks it. See bring everything back.

Jobs shows the job running now and a history of past jobs, including problems they found.

Pause, resume and cancel

Pausing and cancelling take effect after the media item in hand. A paused job resumes where it stopped. A provider outage pauses work too, without using up retries, and it continues by itself when the provider answers.

From WP-CLI, use wp offloft job list, job pause, job resume and job cancel.

How work is paced

Work runs in small batches, 25 media items per background task by default, with up to 4 uploads at once for the sizes of one item. Both are in settings.
