Provider busy or temporarily down

Updated November 6, 2026Suggest an editView as Markdown

If your provider is busy or down, you usually don't need to do anything. Offloft notices, pauses uploads without using up their retries, shows an issue, checks again on its own and continues where it stopped. Your site keeps showing its media. In a test, wait a minute and try again.

The messages

  • "The provider is busy right now." It's limiting requests. Wait a minute, then test again.
  • "The provider had a temporary problem." Test again in a minute.
  • "[Provider] isn't responding right now." This isn't your settings. Try again in a minute.

If you serve files from the cloud during an outage

Files already served from your bucket depend on your provider being up. Offloft doesn't check each image as visitors load it. Unless Pro removed your local copies, you can turn off Rewrite media URLs in Settings → Delivery to serve from your server at once. Check your provider's status page for news.
